Iceline - Yoho Valley
One of my favorite hikes this summer was the Iceline trail in the Yoho Valley. Unfortunately it was a smoky day so the sky was hazy. The hike starts across the highway from Takkakaw falls. The trail climbs up to the foot of a glacier, traverses the ridge and drops into the valley where the trail follows the Little Yoho river back to the main river and down to Takakkaw.
It was a very popular hike; I saw a lot of people (and dogs) throughout the day. While the hike wasn't particularly difficult, the loop I did was over 20 km and it took 6 hours.
There were a few smaller waterfalls in the valley, and even more people. I didn't care much for the last leg of the hike - it was just a walk along a gravel road, but the river was lovely nonetheless.
I also have one really nice photo of Emerald Lake, which is fed by the glacier on the Iceline trail. Emerald Lake was SO BUSY. There were hundreds of people, so I didn't stay long.
